Aesthetic Foundations of Education Courses

Greetings!

Some of us who attended last week's Think360 Creative Institute for Teaching workshops are now a part of Dr. Bruce Uhrmacher's Aesthetic Foundations of Education course at the University of Denver. Here, we receive a more in-depth dose of the theoretical framework of CRISPA and aesthetic learning in the classroom. Now, although the word 'theoretical' may not bring a past aesthetic experience to mind, in this class we learn these theoretical frameworks through aesthetic learning. For example, in one week we attended classroom sessions at the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Zoo, then brought those experiences back to discuss in a classroom setting about how to create our own experiences into lesson plans that can be translated back to our students. Important to note, CRISPA is so flexible that it applies to those that are non-academia, as well as those in a university setting. CRISPA is for all!

If you would like to bring CRISPA to a school or university near you, contact Dr. Bruce Uhrmacher at bruce.uhrmacher@du.edu .

Check out CRISPA Blog tab to keep up with our journey through the aesthetics!

CRISPA is a space for educators to engage in a dialogue around the interconnectedness and creativity that can be involved in lesson planning.
